Who is OverseasEmployment.ca?
Welcome to OverseasEmployment.ca We’re happy you’ve chosen to visit us. We are a registered and licensed agency with the city of Vancouver, BC. We now offer an online self-study certification program to train ESL teachers who are interested in traveling abroad, and teaching English. We still offer our in-class OE masters teachers course, and make it available to those of you who prefer face-to-face instruction.
The recruiting department of our agency, matches professional ESL teachers with recommended schools overseas. Our agency draws from a wealth of experience in the overseas job market and our business philosophy is predicated on open, honest, direct and supportive communication. We take the time to really get to know both the school’s and teacher’s specifications, so we can make the best possible match and ensure a rewarding cultural experience for everyone. A new dimension in our recruiting, is that we are going to allow our clients to view short video interviews of our available teachers, in order to expedite the hiring process. We have found from recent experience, this new pre-interviewing practice is most beneficial for both the teachers, and the directors of the schools who have immediate positions to fill.
If you’re a native born English speaker, or can speak English clearly without a foreign accent, and would like to teach ESL, OverseasEmployment.ca can help evaluate and facilitate your employment processing. We can answer your questions and help you make a more informed employment choice. We only deal with reputable professional schools and, in the unlikely event that a dispute should occur, we can act as an intermediary. Many of our teachers prefer our service for this added measure of security we provide. At OverseasEmployment.ca we believe there are mutually-beneficial solutions to every problem and we work to ensure both our teachers and clients are happy in their situation.
Both our online self-study program and in-class Masters certification course, have provided our certified teachers the ability to go and teach all levels of ESL with confidence. Our ESL certifications both come with an ESL teachers guidebook.
OE is registered under the License’s & Inspections Department for Educational – Instruction and Teacher Recruiting.

OverseasEmployment.ca General Information
The ESL teaching business is a thriving and ever changing way for native born English speakers to travel abroad, work and make a comfortable living while living in a foreign country, with little or no post secondary education. Since the late 1980’s, teaching English abroad has become more popular year by year. That means competition for jobs has also grown. However, even with this growth, there is still more demand for teachers overseas than people to fill the ESL positions.
OverseasEmployment.ca has been collecting information and researching teaching jobs since the early 1990’s. ESL jobs then, were plentiful and paid a much higher wage. Today, it has become a big business. English has become the international language of the world. Every year enrollments in overseas foreign language schools continues to rise. Schools are opening up almost daily in Asia, but in the same breath, they are also shutting down at an amazing rate as well. The close downs are usually due to poor management as opposed to lack of students.
Our agency has established clients that prefer to use our company more as a matter of convenience and time than anything else. Our job is to advertise, market and check our candidate’s references. We communicate on behalf of the candidate, thereby creating a buffer zone between the school and the teacher. Many of the largest schools overseas will use their own marketing methods along with the use of recruiting agencies to gain highly qualified instructors. Smaller schools do not have the budget to pay recruiters, so they do their own hiring and advertise mostly using the web.
When sending your resume to the various schools, be sure to include a recent picture of yourself. All the overseas schools require this. Some schools overseas also hire teachers of other subjects besides just English. We wish you luck in your ESL job search.
OverseasEmployment.ca is always looking for ESL teachers, so feel free to fill out our online application and drop us your picture and resume. Good luck and good job-hunting.
